Hello,

I purchased your Deck Tunes unit a few days ago. Maybe too eagerly.

Regretfully after a very long "discussion", my wife is insisting that it was not in our budget at this time. In order to keep the peace, I'd like to return it. I see that it was already shipped and should arrive 7/10/08.

If I do not open the package can I return it for a refund? I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience it may cause. Maybe in the future it will be affordable for me. Thank you.

Sorry to hear about your situation and returning the unit for a refund is not a problem. Please ship it to the following address and we will credit your card shortly after we receive it.

Well, it came today and I couldn't resist opening the box to at least look at it. Of course that lead to installing it.

Wow, what a neatly constructed system. I already had a pair of Bose outdoor speakers for years and man, do they sound good on the pool deck now.

I've decided the easiest solution here is to keep the unit and send back my wife. Nahh, she actually likes it too. Thanks for your reply. Deck Tunes is a really great system.

Good to hear. We're sure you'll enjoy it for years to come. Love your sense of humor. Never loose it as plenty of laughter will certainly prolong your life!

Just installed one of your "Deck Tunes" audio units on my backyard
patio & pool area. The sound is fantastic!. This system has all the
versatility and features I've been looking for.

Unit is installed on the house under the left patio light fixture.
Speakers under the eves and in the garden area.

Replacing the head unit

Hello i purchased my decktunes last year with the cqc1333u head unit. Is there a way to swap out this head unit with a new one with sirius? or do i need to replace the whole deck tunes? Thanks...BTW i'm very happy with the decktunes.

Dear Outdoor Audio,

We are really enjoying our new outdoor audio unit that we recently installed on the back patio of our house. The sound is great with the 1 pair of Phoenix Gold ATO52 speakers we purchased with the system.

Also, the head unit picks up all of our local stations so clearly and the 12 volt charger is a real plus when using our ipod. It is so nice to enjoy quality sound while in the backyard.

Just wanted to drop a note what a great product you have! I completed the complete installation (with speakers) in less than 3 hours and was sitting by the pool enjoying the sound soon after I put away the last tool!
Now I can't keep the remote away from my wife...the one who thought we didn't "need" this! HAHA!

Head Unit Issue

Hi. I purchased my Deck Tunes Last summer. I went out to put in a CD while I was working on the yard and the Unit is exhibiting some odd behavior. When you turn it on you the screen just says Adjust. When you try to change the source type it says CD eject In fact when ever you push any button at all it says CD eject Sounds to me like something is stuck in the CD unit that makes it think a CD is in there (there isnt)

I tried contacting the head unit support and they were basically helpless giving me great answers like Make sure the isnt a CD in there and Are you sure?

Any ideas on how to resolve?

By the way I love this thing. I was contemplating building something similar myself for my yard and stumbled across you site / product. You build it much better then I could I have J NO complaints up until this point

Poor Reception

I get poor reception unless I am touching the antenna inside the enclosure or touching the top of the unit.

I live in the middle of Omaha and have very good reception with any other radio.

Any suggestions?

I just saw this comment from an Outdoor Audio employee on something called the Integrators Forum:

In addition to refining to overall look of the unit, we're exploring offering a "Bring Your Own Stereo" model that would allow you to install a head unit of your choice along with a higher powered model and separate plug-and-play amplifier module. >>

That was posted in July of 2007. Has anything been done along these lines? Based on what I see on your website, it doesn't look like anything new is available. Changes in electronics happen quickly, as you know, and it seems odd to me that you still offer this same head unit after two years. At a minimum, I would like to see a unit with an HD radio. The possibility that a customer could put in a head unit of his own choosing would be a great option.

I am very interested in your product, but would hate to buy the current version of Deck Tunes and find some brand new model released a month later. Can you give me any idea about upcoming changes/enhancements?

Looking for suggestions on a pair of good outdoor speakers for my deck. price range is around 200-400. theyll be powered by my yamaha reciever. I can get a model # if needed. must be 6 or 8 ohm. please dont post unless you have a suggestion, i dont need to waste my time with ignorant posts. thanx
